(Madrid, 1969) has PhD in Economics (2001) and teaches Economic Policy at the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Valencia (Spain) since 1999. Besides, he is member of the Investigation Unit Social Formations in Transition of the same university. His main line of investigation is the study of the economic transformation in Balkan countries, especially Bulgaria. He has participated in different research projects funded by European Union, UNDP, Spanish government and University of Valencia (Spain) on different aspects of the Bulgarian transition (as Reestructuración e integración económica: posibilidades de aplicación de la experiencia española en Bulgaria, Business Transfer in Romania, Turkey and Western European countries or Development of Entrepreneurships in the Field of Social Services in Bulgaria, Spain, Italy and France). He has published more than ten articles in different academic journals (“Una revisión de la concepción ortodoxa de la transición del socialismo al capitalismo” Contribuciones a la Economía, September, 2006; “La ineficacia de la legislación sobre quiebra búlgara y su impacto sobre la mercantilización de los medios de producción”, Papers Transició, 2, 2002 or “Development and Crisis of the Centrally Planned Economy in Bulgaria”, Valahian Journal of Historical Studies, 2, 2006) and more than ten chapters in the books.
