Eyup Basti: , PhD, is Assistant Professor at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences, Fatih University, İstanbul, Turkey. He is the coordinator of MBA program with thesis at the Department of Management. Dr. Basti received his Bachelor’s degree from the Middle East Technical University of Ankara in 1996 and MBA from Fatih University in 1998. He received his PhD degree from İstanbul University in Social Sciences (Finance) by defending his thesis on “2001 Financial Crisis of Turkey in the Light of Financial Crises Theories: The Effects of The Financial Crisis on the Efficiency of Turkish Financial Sector.” Dr. Basti’s PhD thesis accepted and published by Capital Markets Board of Turkey, regulatory and supervisory authority of Turkish Financial Sector. Dr. Basti published articles in peer-reviewed and EconLit indexed journals about mutual funds, venture capital, financial crises and efficiency of banks and non-bank financial institutions. He lectures on financial accounting, financial management and investment management at undergraduate and graduate (masters) level. His current research interests are financial performance of firms, efficiency, productivity, country risk and macroeconomic environment.
