Unemployment as a Main Determinant of Entrepreneurship
Jaroslaw Korpysa
ABSTRACT. In the times of progressing globalisation and unification of the economies, development of enterprise gains extraordinary importance, especially in agricultural areas, in terms of socio-economic activation. Showing initiative and resourcefulness, identifying and making use of emerging opportunities by rural communities are all determined by development of entrepreneurship. Moreover, it conditions the inhabitants raising their awareness on immediate correlation between the level of entrepreneurship development and their future. One of the factors to determine enterprising processes and attitudes is, beyond doubt, unemployment that on one hand stimulates and on the other hinders entrepreneurial activity of the society.
Bearing in mind the above properties, the following paper presents results of the author’s own research conducted with an aim of examining enterprise of unemployed youth in rural areas. The analysis of empirical material follows theoretical deliberations on the issue examined.
