Virginija Jureniene
ABSTRACT. The article provides the analysis of creative industries in Kaunas District (Lithuania) that was carried out in 2009, as part of the international project „Creative Growth” financed by INTERREG IVC programme. During the analysis, the industry model of the Swedish practice was applied in 19 neighbourhoods of Kaunas District in order to establish the development of creative industries and art incubators there. Only in two neighbourhoods – Babtai and Raudondvaris – there are exceptional sectors of creative industries where the heritage, media, and art are developed. The neighbourhood of Neveronys was distinguished by the sector of functional works of creative industries. But the rest of neighbourhoods developed ethnic culture financed by the Government.
