A Focus on Networking Practices for Entrepreneurs in a Transition Economy
Boris Urban
ABSTRACT. This paper investigates entrepreneurial networking activities, such as network diversity, ties, social exchange and climate support, between necessity-driven entrepreneurs (NDE) and opportunity-driven entrepreneurs (ODE). The study is contextualized in a dual-logic economy, where the schism between the rich and poor, as in many parts of the world, is increasing. Inferential statistics reveal significant differences on several networking principles. Results add support to the argument that a degree of homogeneity in networks exists and that networking is indeed related to the type of entrepreneur investigated.
