XBRL Integration into Intelligent System for Credit Risk Evaluation

ABSTRACT. EXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), as well as many other XML based financial standards, is a new and widely adopted framework having big impact on both accounting and financial reporting fields as well as business information systems, intelligent analysis and expert systems. Together with a family of similar standards applied for structural data representation in various fields of business, finance, statistics and etc. it forms a new milestone in financial information transfer and processing and suggesting new possibilities for financial analysis and intelligent systems. This article describes XBRL together with other XML based standards for financial and business information, and also examines current situation of its adoption as well as abilities to create and integrate XBRL based reports and information in modern financial information systems. A case study of XBRL integration into intelligent application for credit risk evaluation research is also presented as an example.
