Comparative Analysis of Employment Sectoral Structure in Eurozone Countries
Robert W. Wlodarczyk
ABSTRACT. In this study changes in the employment sectoral structure in Euro zone countries are discussed between 1998 and 2008. The weight of the four most important sectors of the economy is illustrated: agriculture, industry, market and non-market services on employment. In the next part of the article, the degree of similarity in the structure under analysis in a dynamic perspective for EMU countries is shown. Finally, the author presents his insights into the employment sectoral structures in the above mentioned countries. It is doscovered that regional disparities in the employment sectoral structure have been decreasing in Euro zone countries after introducing a common currency.
