Grazina Startiene, Rita Remeikiene
ABSTRACTThe aim of the article is to establish the model of self-employment factors in the country with transition economy to integrate micro-environmental and macro-environmental factors of self-employment and evaluate the impact of these factors on self-employment start-up and duration. It enables to find that complex establishment of self-employment factors and the impact of these factors on different self-employment stages (start-up and duration), applying objective self-employment promotion measures, can have a positive effect on the level of self-employment. The analysis has revealed that available models of self-employment factors are not comprehensive, i.e. they do not include all self-employment factor groups and self-employment process stages. The second part of the article is aimed to present an original model of self-employment factors. With reference to the model, the measures of self-employment promotion to be applied by different institutions – labour centres, business associations, educational, training and other institutions can be proposed. Successful application of the model in self-employed person’s activity can help to achieve high economic result which would be favourable for both, economics of the country and the person himself.
