SPREAD OF CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES IN LITHUANIAN ELECTRICITY SECTOR

ABSTRACT.The aim of this paper is to formulate main directions to develop and implement the schemes of support for clean energy technologies. New clean energy technologies have experienced significant increase in the past several years over the world and in Lithuania as well. Unfortunately, this process is still not market driven. Significant promotion efforts shall be applied to satisfy needs for clean energy. Authors are discussing worldwide principles intended to use to develop promotion schemes for new clean technologies. Extraordinary Lithuanian experience of solar photovoltaic implementation is analyzed in the paper as well. Authors, taking into account theoretical analyses and situational insights, propose to develop clean energy promotion schemes for wider dissemination of small business, local communities and individuals. This engagement should be carried out in order to participate in the whole value creation chain not only in energy generation.
