Cristian C. Popescu, Andrei Maxim, Laura Diaconu (Maxim)
ABSTRACT.This paper presents and analyses the main factors that influence the entrepreneurial intentions of the Romanian students. The study involved both an extensive investigation of the specialized literature and the empirical research conducted on a sample of 682 Romanian students. After the statistical testing, most of the research hypotheses were confirmed. The results of this research underline the fact that education, gender, and personality traits (propensity to take risks, innovativeness, and need for achievement) influence the entrepreneurial intentions of the Romanian students. Moreover, it was noticed that those who have or had an entrepreneurial model in their family or among their close friends are more likely to start a new business in the next two or three years .
