ABSTRACT. The contribution deals with some selected aspects related to the level of implementation of process management in small and medium-sized enterprises. It as well analyses the financial success rate of the process managed small and medium-sized enterprises. Further, the ascertained characteristic approaches of SMEs management with regard to the level of implementation of process management principles are summarized. The results of the implemented research are presented. The process management is more often implemented in larger SMEs, and its implementation as well depend on the sector (for example, companies specializing in food production or trade are hardly ever fully process managed, but they all implement process management at least partially). For the assessment of the financial success rate of SMEs, the average profitability of assets for a period of five years was chosen as an indicator. It may be deduced from the analyses that the process managed companies tend to formulate a larger number of aims, and, in their case, the profits are most often used as the primary indicator .
