THE METHOD FOR DETECTING THE LEADING SECTOR ON WSE

ABSTRACT. The identification of the leading sectors or companies that make up the stock market is important for several reasons. One of them is the investment process. However, there is a question how to identify the leading sector. The main goal of the paper is the identification of the leading sectors on the stock market. The research was conducted in the Warsaw Stock Exchange during 2006-2010 period. In the analysis, the information about some fundamental factors was used. These select factors were used in fundamental power index (FPI) construction (in dynamic way). In this article, there has been proposed a simply method for detecting the leading sector .
