Tomasz Skica, Jacek Rodzinka, Malgorzata Lesniowska-Gontarz
ABSTRACT. Entrepreneurship occupies an important place in economic development. It is frequently cited as a key tool supporting a country's transformation from developing to developed.
This paper aims to identify instruments supporting entrepreneurship used by local government units and assess the degree of their use. In addition, the article assesses the degree of effectiveness of LGU business support instruments in Poland. The results of the conducted research allowed the authors to evaluate the usefulness of the tools supporting entrepreneurship at the local level. The main conclusion derived from the research is that the indication of the most effective support instrument is not simple. The study points to a group that delivers the best results. However, it turned out that simultaneous application of several various entrepreneurship support tools is important - the higher the number of instruments applied, the higher the level of entrepreneurship observed in the municipalities.
