Innovative Tendencies in Polish Companies: Some Remarks on the Background of Transitional Period in Poland

ABSTRACT. The paper refers to innovation tendencies in Polish companies. It is prepared on the base of author’s research realised in the period 2000 – 2003. Main stream of the research was concentrated on firms of the Northern and Eastern part of Poland. The aims of the paper are:
- to investigate impacts on innovation in the Polish companies;
- to identify innovation as an tool for competitiveness;
- to determine, whether innovation depends on firm’s size;
- to identify opportunities and threats of Polish entrepreneurs, concerning Poland’s accession to the EU.
