The Systematic Unity of the Concepts and Definitions of Production and Marketing

ABSTRACT. Marketing and production often are treated as different and separate functions of economy. However, reviewing the concepts of well-known researches and authors in marketing and economics, demonstrated that in many cases there are some affinity in performing these functions. In this article, we aimed at using systems theory to prove how marketing, production, and consumption of natural resources are functioning as the subsystems of the upscale system and are providing sustainable development of the quality of life. We arrived to the conclusion that marketing is the subsystem, which plays the driving role in the system of sustainable development of the quality of life.
